The price is fixed and agreed before you travel: it is for the whole vehicle, not per person.
About 450 km across the Kyzylkum desert, for long stretches beside the Amu Darya river. The road has been rebuilt, so the drive now takes 5–6 hours with stops. It is a real desert crossing: wide sand and saxaul bush, camels, and only a few cafés along the way.
Your driver collects you from your hotel in Bukhara in the morning and drops you at your hotel in Khiva. If it is inside the walls of Ichan Kala, where cars cannot go, he stops at the nearest gate and helps you with your bags.
Take water and snacks, and leave after breakfast: arriving in Khiva in the late afternoon gives you the evening light on the city walls.
What the price includes
Air-conditioned cars with English or Russian speaking drivers. Prices are for the whole vehicle, not per person, and include fuel, tolls and waiting time.
