About this trip

Six days over New Year, on one fixed date, for a small group of up to 12. The Afrosiyob high-speed train takes you from Tashkent to Samarkand, where you see in 2027 at a gala dinner with music on 31 December. Then on to Bukhara, and back to Tashkent for your flight home.

Winter is the quiet season. The Registan and Shah-i-Zinda have room to breathe, sometimes with snow on the domes, and the lanes of Bukhara are yours. Days are around 5°C and nights below freezing, so bring a warm coat.

Good to know

  • One departure: Tuesday 29 December 2026, for 2 to 12 travellers. It goes ahead from 2 travellers.
  • Book by 15 December. We buy the train tickets as soon as they go on sale, and they need each traveller's passport details, so we ask for them right after you book.
  • Day 1: your driver meets your flight whenever you land on 29 December; hotel check-in is from 14:00.
  • The last day: most flights from Tashkent leave in the evening or at night. If yours leaves earlier, tell us your flight and we will plan the day around it.
  • A room to yourself: travelling alone, or want your own room? Choose the single room option when you book.
  • Visas: most nationalities need no visa for Uzbekistan. Read our guide to Uzbekistan visa rules.
